Voice to Spirit : A clever way to describe worship, Our voices praising God. The Duo Voice to Spirit consists of the guy who makes the noise (Mackenzie) and the girl who sings it to life (Brittany). The music is a poetic blend of inspiring vocals, organic pianos, strings, vintage synthesizers and a collision of drum machines and bass. Voice to Spirit takes Christian music to places where many people wished it would have been sooner. All of the music is recorded in Mackenzie's personal studio.
Around 2006 when Mackenzie and Brittany first met, is when Voice to Spirit was formed. Prior to this, Mackenzie made music under the alias Forever Daydream, while Brittany sang for the church. Mackenzie's music was always God inspired, but he desired to do something more. While playing drums in and out of bands, he developed a liking for electronic music in which he started producing. In 2005 he released his first commercial CD Whispered Promise, with guest vocalist Peter Jenkins. After the release he took some time time away from Forever Daydream to pursue other styles, the desire to mix contemporary christian worship grew. A desire to incorporate a female singer grew as well. That all became possible when Mackenzie and Brittany met during the winter of 2006. It wasn’t until 2007 when production of Voice to Spirit's first album 'Songs For A Broken City' started. The album consisted of six worship remixes and nine originals. It was commercially released in the summer of 2008. Later that year, October 18th, Mackenzie and Brittany married! After playing a few shows, fixing up an old house, and taking time to refine their craft, the two came together in the summer of 2010 to begin work on Voice to Spirit's sophomore album 'Leaving confusion'. A 14 track, all original album to be released spring of 2011. |
